Hi just wanted to put this statement out there and hopefully get some discussion going on this blog. It’s very clear that advancing in today’s day is not always an easy thing to accomplish. Experience, hard work and education are fundamental factors in getting a head. I feel that if one is willing to advance for example in the Food industry it’s crucial they stay abreast of current trends, health code and safety procedures. In todays’ day with big brother always watching tighter regulations are in place and they are only getting tighter. This is in the end a great step for the business owner. Food borne illness cost food establishments thousands and thousands of dollars a year. Being educated is something restaurant owners are seeking when they are hiring new staff. The increase in the fast food industry is also going to make the simple part time jobs more difficult to get.

A simple thing like taking the Servsafe Mangers Food protection certification can increase ones chances of getting employed and even becoming a food manager. A simple 8 hour class and exam can increase your potential to be a fatter pay check every week. In Westchester County NY, making $50,000+ a year on average as a food manager is not a bad salary. The Servsafe certification is a great way to add some educational experience to your resume and this shows the employer you have invested your time and are serious about what you do.

What is a Food Manager exactly?
